All our apartments at Sherman Oaks Manor have handicapped accessible bathrooms, and will accommodate canes, walkers and wheelchairs. Since our floor plans were designed with such forethought, our residents have experienced earlier releases from the hospital. We have an entrance intercom system to announce guests and an intercom throughout the building.

Rental Rates effective November 1, 2006
Meals
Breakfast & Dinner are included with rent. Breakfast is served from 7 am-9 am. Order off the menu or enjoy a Continental Breakfast. Dinner (Monday through Saturday) is served to the table at 5 pm, with your choice of two entrees plus soup or salad, potato, vegetable, roll, dessert and beverage (no tipping). Sunday Dinner is served at 2 pm.

Beverages include: Coffee, Hot Tea, Milk, Iced Tea, Lemonade, and Juices
Menus will be posted ahead of time for residents to make their selections. Restricted Diet menus are not available; however, we are willing to consider alternatives that can be easily accommodated. Meetings may be scheduled with the chef to discuss food preparations.
There will be a $1 per plate charge for dinners delivered to your room. This is available if you are not feeling well or if you will be out for the evening and we can put it in your refrigerator. You will need to call ahead for this service.

Rent Reductions
We have incorporated a policy that allows a reduction to your rent if you are out of your apartment for over 2 weeks. An amount of $400 will be deducted from your rent if you are out of your apartment for one month, due to no meals or housekeeping. Pro-rations will be made as needed.

Security Deposits
Security Deposit is $1,000. Cat security deposit is an additional $250 plus a $10 fee added each month to your rent.

Carports
Carports are available first come, first serve, as there are not enough for every apartment.. The monthly rent is $30 and includes a 10’ x 4’ locked storage room.

Inside Storage Lockers
Inside storage lockers are available on the 1st floor. There will only be a limited amount, so again it is first come, first serve. The rental amount is $10 per month.

Trash Chute
There is a trash chute located on each floor in the center of the building. Trash should be taken there in secure bags and dropped down our chute. Recycling is available in the 1st floor trash room. All recycling should be in a secured clear or white garbage bag. Newspaper and cardboard should be separated from everything else.

Intercom System
There is a building intercom that announces activities and gives information. At our front door you will notice an intercom panel on the East sidewall before you enter the building. This lists each resident along with their apartment number and a code. Guests may punch in this code and call your apartment to announce their arrival. Your phone will ring and when you speak to them you can push the number 9 on your telephone and the front door will automatically open for them.

Housekeeping
Our housekeeping service is included free with your rent. All our housekeepers are licensed and bonded. Each resident will have an appointment for weekly cleaning of floors, bathrooms, tubs, toilets, kitchen surfaces, vacuuming, light dusting, etc. Bed linens will be changed if an extra set is available. Once a year, each apartment will be scheduled for a more thorough cleaning.

Laundry
Laundry service is available to pick up and deliver your personal laundry.

Prescriptions
You can be provided with a list of pharmacies in town that will personally deliver your prescriptions.

Transportation
Dial-A-Ride bus service is available seven days a week for your local transportation needs.

Library/Computer Room
We have a beautiful library for everyone to use. Residents and friends have kindly donated beautiful books for all of us to enjoy. We also have 2 computer stations hooked up to the Internet with Email boxes for everyone.

Activity Room/Exercise Room
On the lower level is a spacious activity room, which includes a full-sized pool table and a TV and VCR with many videos to choose from. Behind the activity area we have exercise equipment for your use.

Social Activities
We have a full time social director who plans various activities for residents including card games, Bingo, luncheons, group outings, guest speakers, musicians, church services and prayer meetings.

Shopping Services
Tuesdays at 1:30, you are invited to go to Shop-n-Save grocery store. A Dial-a-Ride bus provides transportation, or you may drive yourself. As you finish your shopping, you tell the clerk you are from Sherman Oaks Manor, provide your apartment number, and your groceries will be delivered to your apartment by a member of our staff.

Hair Salon
The Hair Salon is by appointment only. Our stylists are Lisa Stankowski and Sandy Sample and they service both men’s and women’s hair. Phone 845-9002.

Smoking
As of July 1, 2003, Sherman Oaks Manor is a smoke-free building; meaning residents moving in after that date are not permitted to smoke. However, residents living here prior to that date have been “grandfathered” in, meaning they are allowed to smoke in their apartment.
