MediLodge of Howell offers more than just 24-hour professional care; our staff goes above and beyond what is expected. Upon admission, we obtain a thorough understanding of each new residents medical needs. In addition, we strive to learn about the whole person, carefully considering each persons unique cultural, social and environmental needs, and respecting their wishes.

We also offer some “above and beyond†services that we thought you’d like to hear about:
MediLodge of Howell starts each day with a continental breakfastincluding pastries yogurt, cereals, fresh fruits, juices, coffee and teaat 4:30 a.m. for those early risers. Regular breakfast includes additional options like pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, sausage and bacon. Lunch and dinner options rotate daily including a choice of meat like turkey or shrimp, a baked potato or French fries, choice of vegetables, desserts like baked apples or cheesecake, and a selection of beverages.
MediLodge of Howell is known for its excellent rehab programs. After learning what each person needs, enjoys, and seeks to achieve, we work together to help them recover to the best of their ability. Beyond the traditional therapies, our new Wellness Center’s rehab area includes a “real life†home environment complete with a kitchen, bathroom, and garage. As residents regain functioning, they can practice washing dishes, taking a shower, and getting in and out of the car. All of this translates into an easier transition back home.
A flagship service that is unique to MediLodge of Howell is our in-house respiratory therapy program. Services are offered seven days a week, 12 hours a day. These services assist residents with breathing impairments to help control or lessen their symptoms or complications. The program includes exercises and treatments designed to help patients maintain and recover lung function after suffering illness, injury or surgery.
Upon admission, all residents are screened for potential physical, occupational, and speech therapy needs. Our staff develops customized treatment goals based on each residents needs and interests to help maximize his or her potential. Most of the residents who are admitted via Medicare are able to return home or back to their assisted living facilities after treatment and rehabilitation.
Our therapy rooms provide space for residents care and rehabilitation. Specialized materials, tools, activities, and plans are utilized to help residents regain skills and independence. In 2007, MediLodge of Howell will open a new Spa and Therapy Center that will provide additional services to our residents.
As an adjunct to rehabilitative therapy, restorative therapy includes services to promote independence via programs such as movement, range of motion exercises, and restorative dining. In addition, our therapists provide input to our activity team to suggest activities that might help residents improve their functioning without even realizing that theyre in treatment. In this way, rehabilitation doesnt stop when residents leave the therapy roomthey can continue to improve as they enjoy fun and interesting activities throughout their stay. Special evening star programs, which offer small group or one-on-one therapies designed for individual needs, are available seven days a week.
The services listed below are available to residents via outside providers. Some services may require a physicians order. Services are billed (when possible) to insurance, then an invoice for the remainder will be billed to the family or Medicaid if applicable.
