Newaygo Medical Care Facility is an Eden Alternative Facility that focuses on providing a vibrant and active caring environment for our elders and staff to live and work. A home for 116 elders, this campus starts with beautiful grounds that include three protected walking gardens and an open air courtyard with a fountain. Inside you will find a therapy department with over 1000 sq. ft. of exercise space, a resident run library, a dining room with made-to-order restaurant style breakfast and lunch service, four large sunlit day rooms and a 1200 sq. ft. activity work room. All of this surrounds the centerpiece of the facility - a stunning natural light Atrium.

NURSING
The nursing staff to patient ratio is high to provide the highest quality of care around the clock.

RN's are on staff 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

REHABILITATION SERVICES
Physical Therapy Services are available 7 days

Occupational Therapy a week to maximize each

Speech Therapy elder's potential for independence.

ACTIVITIES/RECREATIONAL THERAPY
Various activities and recreational opportunities are available everyday so that each elder is able to further their leisure independence and functioning.

Community outreach programs
Fall color tours and Christmas light tours
Special event programs by area school children
Shopping trips
Outings to Whitecaps baseball games, apple orchards and restaurants
Arts, crafts, music, gardening, table games, bird watching and so much more.

RELIGIOUS CONSIDERATIONS
Non-denominational services are conducted every Sunday as well as Prayer Groups, Bible Study Programs, devotionals and other activities throughout the week. A chaplain is available for group as well as individual spiritual needs.

SOCIAL WORK STAFF
The Facility has two full time licensed Social Workers on staff to assist elders and their families with emotional and psychosocial issues.

DIETARY STAFF
A full time Dietician and her staff provide meal choices, special birthday celebrations, buffet dining, elder meal input, and therapeutic diets per physician order. A Food Committee (made up of elders and members of the Dietary Staff) meet regularly for meal planning and suggestions.

LAUNDRY SERVICES
Laundry services are provided in-house for all elders' laundry needs. Whether it's taking extra care with that special blouse or mending a favorite pair of paints, the laundry staff is always accommodating.

BARBER and BEAUTY SHOP
Barber and beauty shop services are available in-house to elders wishing to have a haircut, perm or just a little pampering.
